Embrace the Woman Inside of You

|
This March, embrace the woman that exists inside of you.
On March 8th, the world celebrates International Women's Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments of women.
We consider ourselves to be friends, wives, employees, professionals, students, and coworkers in addition to being daughters, mothers, aunts, sisters, nieces, grandmothers, and so forth.
At Core Conditioning, we support equity and endeavor to "create an inclusive world." Your emotions will affect your posture, and vice versa, certain movements and exercises will have an impact on your spirit.
With the move of the month, let's open our hearts by opening our chests and shoulders.

Lorena Rios, Reiki Master, DPT, and CLT
I started my own healing journey over 20 years ago with learning to cope with chronic pain. I had been to a variety of doctors, therapists, and alternative medicine practitioners. I went to India to deepen my yoga practice and learn Ayurveda in hopes of resolving my pain.

|
During that trip, my path took me on a detour to a beautiful temple where I stayed for a few months to learn Reiki.Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique in which the practitioner channels “universal” energy to the patient by laying hands over them and using imagery and mantras to help focus the energy.
It was the first time in my life, I started helping others that were in pain. We practiced on local residents that were affiliated with the temple. When I returned home to NYC, I volunteered time with a holistic healing group that

patients and survivors. I witnessed, that regardless of the gravity of the ailment, Reiki helped to calm and support others.
Although Reiki can seem so ethereal and subtle, my experience with Reiki has been very profound. For over twenty years, Reiki has been a central tool to connect myself to love and healing energy which helped my pain and also redirected my path.
I continued on my journey to become a physical therapist and expand my reach to help others. I will be offering Reiki at Core Conditioning.
